Samsung’s latest PR stunt for the Gear VR headset comes from Australia. To prove that Samsung’s Gear VR can make users feel like they’ve entered another world, they built a dive shop in Alice Springs, Central Australia – 1,200 kilometres from the nearest ocean. Naturally, curious people enter and wonder where the water is. The key is the Gear VR, used in conjunction with the Galaxy Note 4 to give curious visitors to the store the last thing they’d expect to find in the desert – a chance to dive with one of the ocean’s most feared predators. The perspective is that of a diver with no cage, and there’s even a 360-degree shot of the inside of a shark’s mouth.
